Reclassification of Multilingual Learners (MLs) with Disabilities
This qualitative case study investigated how teachers use English language proficiency (ELP) data and make reclassification decisions for MLs with disabilities. Reclassification is a critical equity issue in the education of MLs with disabilities, as these students are disproportionately less likely to reach English proficient status. The study seeks to promote systematic, equitable reclassification procedures.
